Budapest Hosts the 2023 World Athletics Championships
The inaugural World Athletics Photography Workshop, an unprecedented event in the world of sports photography, took place in Budapest, Hungary, from August 19–27, 2023, alongside the 19th edition of the World Athletics Championships. This momentous occasion marked the first time that the World Athletics Championships were held in Hungary, making it the biggest sporting event in the nation's history.
Over 2,000 elite athletes from more than 200 countries descended upon Budapest to compete for medals and titles in 49 track and field events. The nine-day spectacle provided unparalleled opportunities for photographers to capture the raw emotion, athleticism, and determination of the world's best.
The World Athletics Photography Workshop, meticulously organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), gathered renowned photographers and industry experts to share their knowledge and insights with aspiring and professional photographers alike.
